Cheese toasted in lorry fire

　　A lorry carrying 10 tonnes of cheese was transformed into a giant mobile fondue by a fire.

　　Firefighters in west Wales fought the major blaze for 90 minutes as the mountain of cheese dripped on to the main road. The incident happened on the A44 between Lovesgrove Flats and Glanrafon, about five miles outside Aberystwyth. The lorry was pulling a fully- laden trailer of cheese weighing a combined 19 tonnes when the fire broke out.

　　Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus were called in and police were forced to close the road for up to five hours. "The lorry and its trailer were severely damaged in the fire and burning blocks of cheese had to be removed on to the road," a Mid and West Wales Fire Brigade spokesman said.

　　A major clean-up operation was later launched by Ceredigion County Council's highways department. "All the jokes in the office today have been about toasted cheese and fondue," a highways department spokeswoman said.

　奶酪变干酪
